The World Breaths With You
Tread lightly where you go
The very ground can carry history
A simple grove of trees
A resting place of rocks
The shole of a of brook
May have been meeting places
Where great things once passed
Take care of the beauty you see
As its refuge comes freely
And its destruction with a price
Imagine what you might give
To have your very history speak
From the world around you
And tell your story
If only blank walls could say
“Mind not the solitude
The silence wasn’t always here
Sacred words once passed by
And glorious actions were spurred!”
Or if the whispering wind of the trees
Could whisk by your ears and murmur,
“We inspired nations to rise and move
The tender shade here brought peace
The soft delicacies that everyone enjoys
Were fought for because of us, by ones
As wayward and lost as you.
Look upon what you enjoy
And realize your greatness
Lies only in what you love
Know this and walk softly
But with bold determination
For the future is yours to take
But the past is left for those
Inspired to follow in your steps.”
